Waking Bear is an Indie-Rock band from Olympia, Washington, consisting of five little bears; Noah Bears (Lead Vocals, Guitar), Ivy Jordanne (Lead vocals, Keyboard), Daniel Fisch (Lead Guitar), Scott Ercoliani (Drums), and Scotty Jones (Bassist).
The band was founded in 2018 by Noah Bears when one magical day his path crossed with Ivy Jordanne, and their relationship exploded into a tale of love, travel and music.
They discovered they had a shared creative desire to develop a different kind of musical experience, one that uplifted their listeners into higher states, activating vibrations of joyous love and healing.
Their newest release, “The Honorable Waking Bear” was written when Noah’s mother was dying of cancer, yet the song is joyous, with a celebratory energy.
The introduction to the song is instantly energizing, with a high-piched keyboard playing a catchy riff which I find myself humming for hours after.
The song tells the tale of a bear, who decides that life is too short hibernate, and after waking early one spring, he happily frolics in all the abundances surrounding him.
I enjoy the descriptive lyrics which paint an imaginative picture in the mind’s eye of the waking bear roaming the forest, such as; “he can feed on salmon, feed on berries, he can run the fields free. He can make some babies with the ladies, he can nap away the day”.
The combination of high-vibrational music, passionately charismatic vocals, and lyrical allegories has produced a song that encourages listeners to open their hearts and minds.
And the final message from Waking Bear? “May we all tune our hearts to this frequency”.
If you enjoy music from artists such as Trevor Hall and Michael Franti & Spearhead, then Waking Bear will fit perfectly on your playlist.
