Layered synths bounce with vocal reverbs and I am transported into a trippy world of psychedelic, electropop. This is the soundscape of Dan Perry’s second single, “Coexist”.

Perry incorporates interesting effects that reflect similarities to Massive Attack and Radiohead, although he focuses on emphasizing the pop elements more.

“Coexist” is about reconnecting with a past lover, and with the belief they can overcome their differences, he poetically divulges why they should be, “co-existing” in the same space, and re-establish a relationship.

This intimate exchange is communicated expertly through Perry’s delicate and hypnotic vocals.

Perry is a 20-year-old pop artist who began releasing his music earlier this year. He has been singing and playing acoustic guitar since 14 years of age, until one evening a friend invited him to record at a local studio, and he was instantly fascinated.

He continued to spend every evening there and with artist manager, Erik Azizi, Perry released his first single, “Your Love Is a Heavy Dose”, which draws on the higher-energy, house-pop elements.

Perry incorporates an impressive range of styles in his music with noticeable differences between his first two singles.

I am intrigued to see what this young artist will mesmerize us with on his next release. Keep an eye and an ear out for it!

If you enjoy music from artists such as Shawn Mendes and Justin Bieber, then Dan Perry will fit perfectly on your playlist.
